TNA is said to want Sting to wrestle his second of his four remaining dates the week after the TNA one cent episode. The hope is that many people will order the once cent broadcast, and with hype about Sting returning the week after, many people will continue to order every Wednesday at the normal $10 price. Vince Russo, and other TNA officials want to see Sting beat AJ Styles for the NWA TNA World Title. This would create complications however, because Sting only has three appearances left with TNA. Therefore, after defeating Styles on one show, he would have to drop the belt within the next two.
Sean Pighin & wrestlingdotcom.com

The latest word on Sting is that WWE still is interested in Sting, but talks have cooled down quite a bit as signing Sting is not the priority it was earlier this summer. He also still has a few NWA:TNA appearances left on his four-show contract, so we should be seeing him return to televised wrestling very soon, albeit not necessarily for WWE.

Working with Sting was always a pleasure. He says they had a pay per view match and it was messed up from the start. He says on house shows, they had great matches but at the pay per view, Sting was supposed to not come out right away and then be dropped from the rafters. The stunt worker dropped him early and the timing and emphasis of the entire match was off from that point on. He hopes to wrestle him again.

The Sting interview will be the first shoot-style interview he's ever done. "Sting: Behind the Paint" is a very compelling piece of video that was a complete monitor sellout in the production truck. The interview will air this Wednesday night. Mike Tenay did an absolutely fantastic job talking with Sting. Look for the Stinger to discuss things he's never talked about in public before. It may sound like a cliché, but this truly is Sting like you've never seen him before.

The man called Sting was on No Holds Barred Radio and he said that he has not "closed the door on working for the WWE". That's great to hear. And to be honest with you, Sting would be the best WCW pick up since the original WCW Invasion. Ric Flair was good in the beginning, but now he's a second fiddle member of a stable. Nash is injured, Hall is a drunk, and Steiner is in bad cardiovascular shape. Now granted, Hogan is working out well, but he disappeared there for a while and hurt Smackdown's ratings as champion (his hyped title match with Chris Jericho remains the lowest rated Smackdown at 2.9). With Sting, he's still in great shape for his age (42 or 43 now? 41? 44?) and his style won't get him hurt and he won't be out of breath, like Steiner. Plus, he remains the BIGGEST FACE that WCW has ever had.

I mean, all of the old WCW fans loved the guy. Sting NEVER went to the WWE, thereby making him a unique product to the WWE, much like Bill Goldberg, who also never went to the WWE. Which brings me to my point... why bother with Bill Goldberg? If he's going to ask for $3 to $4 Million for 2 appearances in the WWE, Wrestlemania and Backlash, then I'm sure you could get the Stinger at a better price, and in the long run, you'll have a better worker and someone who isn't afraid to put over talent (ask Vader, DDP, Booker T, Bret Hart, Bill Goldberg, and many others). I think his Crow gimmick would work well with the WWE, too.

He's definitely worth it. Therefore, instead of rallying support for the signing of Bill Goldberg, how about Sting? Spread the word!

It is being reported that everyone was suprised to see how good of shape Sting was in on the most recent WWA tour. According to a lot of the wrestlers, he looked very good in the ring for someone who has not wrestled in two years. It is now rumored that NWA-TNA will try to contract Sting as an active wrestler.
Calvin Martin & lordsofpain.net

This week the LilsBoys and Adam Sibley of Sun Online caught up with Sting - quite simply one of the greatest wrestlers of all time.
The franchise of WCW talked to us about many things including:
Getting back in the ring - Well I thought that I had retired from wrestling too! I never officially retired or anything - I hadn't closed the door on wrestling - but I thought that I was probably done.
Then I got a phone call from Andrew McManus, the WWA promoter, and I decided to go back to work.
Joining the WWE - I would say my chances of going to Japan or back to Europe are better than me going to the WWE.
The best in the business - There isn't any one. Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and The Great Muta are the big ones for me.
A full time comeback - This could be my last tour. I wanted to come here and shake out the rust - because it is 18 months since I was last in the ring - and see how I feel. If I feel good and the world is interested in me then I would consider doing something, somewhere in wrestling, in the future.
Sting also talks about a lot more including how he very nearly joined the WWF/E in the 1990s and why he dislikes many of wrestling's current storylines.

I just came back from Wembley Arena, and I must say, the show was great!!! About 5000 people in the audience, but everyone there enjoyed the show, especially me!
Sting and Lex Luger with Miss Elizabeth vs. Buff Bagwell and Perry Saturn with Midajah
Sting got MEGA POPS. I could barely hear myself think. Luger got heat though because he ripped England. Sting finished off Perry Saturn with his scorpion deathlock. 10 minute match everyone, looked great in the ring, especially Sting, he should be in the WWE. Midajah got furious and behind Elizabeth's back RIPPED LIZ'S DRESS OFF!! MEGA POP for that!!! She was in some white bra and granny panties and her boobs looked pretty big by the way. Luger and Sting quickly covered Liz up with her ripped dress and left. Liz looked really embarassed and I must say that I never thought The First Lady would have her clothes ripped.

WDC Reader Don Pena & wrestlingdotcom.com

The WWA ran a show last night in London, England and according to reports, Lex Luger missed the show with an injury. The main event was changed to Sting/Nathan Jones vs. Malice/Buff. No word yet on what Luger's injury is, or how long he'll be out of action.

From Ted Dibiase's official newsletter -
'As I have for the past six years I attended the Athletes International ministry conference the last weekend in June. The weather in Phoenix was especially hot this year with the temperature rising as high as 115 degrees! That's hot!! But friends it wasn't nearly as hot as what the Holy Spirit was doing in the conference. On the first night of the conference my old wrestling buddy Mike Hegstrand and his wife gave their hearts to the Lord. You would better know him as Road Warrior Hawk! Then the next morning his partner Joe (Animal} and his entire family came forward and recommitted their lives to Jesus. Then, as if that weren't enough, my good friend Terry Taylor came forward as well! Is our God not an awesome God!! I cried tears of joy for my friends and their families. The Road Warriors have already committed to going on a mission trip with me to India in late November. Praise God They will also be joining me for many PWA wrestling events coming up. (check the schedule) ... Also attending the conference were Tully Blanchard, Hector Guerrero, Nikita Koloff, and Steve Borden (Sting). Also attending when he could because of his health was Superstar Billy Graham It was almost like a wrestlers reunion. What's even better is that we have all committed to attend the conference next year and bring along with us more of our friends from the wrestling business. ... As I write this letter the ministry is going strong. I am seeing hundreds come to the Lord at my meetings and continue to see doors of opportunity swing wide open. It's even looking like I may have a weekly radio program which I will call, "In the Ring." It will be a program discussing today's issues as they pertain to our Christian walk. I hope to have more on this in my next letter. I am booking meetings well into next year and as you know I'm also booked along with Sting and Nikita for six more events with TeenMania (Aquire the Fire).

The Honky Tonk Man was recently a guest on Below the Belt, a wrestling radio show in Baltimore, Maryland. He talked about Ted DiBiase recently baptizing the Road Warriors in Arizona. He says DiBiase, Sting, the Road Warriors, Terry Taylor, Tully Blanchard and a host of others were in Arizona on some sort of religious convention. He says if they too were truly 'born again', they would have let bygones be bygones and called HTM to come to their convention, since he lives in Arizona. He jokes that he wouldn’t have minded getting some of the money out of the collection plate.
Dan Edler & wrestlingdotcom.com

When Scott Steiner was on 'Get In The Ring' this past week, he said 'he still talks to Sting, but he doesn't think Sting will return in a role where he has to travel much. Feels Sting doesn't want to go on a full time road schedule.' Scott said the travel used to be much worse, but even the "four day on, three day off" schedule is heavy. He feels everyone needs a break sometimes, or they just get burned out.

Ted Debiase:

Also attending the conference were Tully Blanchard, Hector Guerrero, Nikita Koloff, and Steve Borden (Sting). Also attending when he could because of his health was Superstar Billy Graham It was almost like a wrestlers reunion. What's even better is that we have all committed to attend the conference next year and bring along with us more of our friends from the wrestling business.

INTERVIEW: "The Heartbreak Kid" SHAWN MICHAELS

Ted Debiase : How about you getting together with Ted, Nikita and Sting to work for Christ?

Yes, we have all sort of talked about that also and if it’s the Lord’s will, He will make that happen.

Sting, along with the 'Million Mollar Man' Ted Debiase and Koloff were on a Christian show on Houston's Daystar TV. It was a short skit were the million dollar man played the devils servant and tempted Sting. Sting went on to say how the devil was always beside him when he wrestled and gave him what he wanted. He said he became a main eventer fighting Ric Flair and others, his face was on over 400 different products he was a wanted man but he still wasn't happy. He then gave his life to God and finally got what he really wanted. He said people ask him why he doesn't wrestle anymore and he said he wrestles everyday with a power struggle to resist the devils temptations.

Leaving his successful career as the Champion wrestler Sting, Steve Borden has turned in his titles for a bible and a microphone. After years in the professional wrestling ring, Steve eventually saw the light and made a change. Despite all his achievements and triumphs, it wasn’t until he gave his life to God that he could stand proud and say: "Wow, there truly is a purpose in life." Sting: Sting is someone I really admire for the simple fact that he has never let - not since I’ve known him anyway - he never let this business change him. You see a lot of guys, depending on whether they are popular with the fans or not popular with the fans, or getting used in regular story lines or not getting used, you see them act differently accordingly. Sting has always seemed to maintain the same personality, he’s the same kind of guy regardless of what’s going on around him. And he’s always got a kind word and a hand shake, he’s always so friendly. I admire that about him especially in a business like this where politics play such a big part in whether people will talk to you or not talk to you depending on where you are on the roster.

............

I just got back from the Acquire the Fire Christian youth rally at Arco Arena in Sacramento and Steve "Sting" Borden was one of the guest speakers. He talked about his faith and shared a little bit about his life. He also mentioned wrestling guys like Hogan, Hall, Nash, and Flair. Anyways, afterwards, he was set up at a merchandise table. I got an autograph, shook his hand, and told him it was an honor to meet him. On a side note, before Sting actually came out on stage, they showed clips of him wrestling Hogan, Hall, Nash, Flair, Luger, and Big Show, among others.

Got this from a friend

Hi there,

Acquire the Fire, Stand Up Invasion was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. To see over 40,000 teenagers banded together and worshiping God is the most breath taking scene I've ever witnessed. To know that there is a much needed alternative to the lifestyles that they had been living. I just wish more the street kids could find this way also.

They had Sonic Flood, Super Chick, Gospel Gangterz and many more singers. The RCA Dome rocked with the belief that all we need to do is believe in the almighty. That with his guidance, there is nothing we can't overcome. There was even a letter read from the president endorsing this event. Many speakers, among those the two ladies that had been help captive in Afganistan and a doctor that had been held captive in Korea.

They were short volunteers so Sherri and I did a bit of every thing. We were there from 1:00 pm to 1030 that night on Friday and then back again on Saturday from 730am until 930 that night. We put alot of miles on our legs and feet thats for sure.

The most wonderful part of the whole night was when Sting/Steve walked away from wrestling for good. I know we will all miss him....but hes so much better off helping teens in his new mannwer. To see someone you love give themselves to God is the most rewarding gift of all. I stood with him....giving him my heart and blessings....knowing that now, my dear friend is on the right path. That his troubled and tortured soul is on the mend. There was not a dry eye in the place, including mine. I sobbed like a baby. I too allowed God to enter once again into my body and take away the doubt and confusion that has been weighing me down.

I truly believe that from time to time we need that boost of faith...that touch of greatness....that beginning again. He's always been with me every step of the way, with each hurtful and wonderful experience I have ever endured.....I just think at times, I don't lean like I should and try to "fix" it all myself. This was a kindly reminder that.....God handles all.

Do I sound like IM on a soap box....Im sorry ...but I just feel so good knowing that Steve has been saved...and that once more we have a common ground. Our hearts are joined forever now.

Always believe, is something some people choose to make fun of....but it has never meant more to me that anything at this point in my life and I truly understand why the Warrior lives by them...also know I fully comprehand Spiritual Love.

Rest easy dear friends....I know now where my mainstay has to be....within myself. If you go to the site, Acquire the Fire, you can see it all....its breathtaking. Hope to talk to you soon....I have so many things to tell you.

Watch for Ted, Nikita and Sting in a brand new TV commercial for Pre-Paid Legal, coming to a station near you early next year!! http://www.milliondollarman.com/
STING INTERVIEW :http://www.milliondollarman.com/newsletter/pg21201.htm

Another big development that has recently taken place is that along with Nikita Koloff and Sting, I will be doing several events with Ron Luce and TeenMania. These are the events called Aquire the Fire. We'll have the opportunity to witness to literally thousands of teenagers! Isn't that awesome? The biggest event will be in Indianapolis, Indiana in April at the RCA dome. They are expecting over 60,000 teens to attend!! Please be praying for us as God opens these doors to witness to so many. We will all need your prayer cover. Satan will do all he can to destroy it.  So, PLEASE PRAY FOR US!

Wrestling With God ...Life's greatest battles don't happen in the ring..... cover

Sting's time away from the ring opened his eyes to another possibility as well. He sees a great opportunity for him and Sue to minister together in some capacity. Just a few years after he almost lost his wife, the two are now closer than ever.

"I love my wife very much" Sting says. "God is the most important thing in my life, then Sue is next. I can't describe how much our relationsship means to me. I'm look forward to spending the rest of my life with her. It's been amazing to see how God has been working in her life."

Whether Sting's ministry takes him on the road for speaking engagements or simply plants him firmly at home, he has made a determination to never back down from the gospel message that saved his marriage, his family, and his life.

"People can talk about religion, and people can talk about God," he says. "They can talk about being spiritual, but when you mention Jesus Christ ,people cringe. I'm glad I accepted Christ when I did. My life is better than it's ever been. I just want to help bring as many people as I can to Christ. That's the most important thing to me now."
