FINAL NITRO
Main Event
Ric Flair vs. Sting
Well, if you had to close this chapter in WCW history, this is
THE match to do it with. No one match, in my opinion, no one
feud, sums up the 80s and 90s WCW like Flair vs.
Sting. We may never get to see these two wrestle each other
again.
Scott Hudson puts over that Sting is the one man who never left
the company for the WWF. Flair "WHOOOs", Sting
"OWWW"s," they circle and the match is on. Sting
throws Flair to the floor. Flair gets back up, whip, Sting bumps
him to the floor. Flair backs him into the corner with some
chops, Sting turns it around and nails Flair with chops and
punches, a hiptoss and a dropkick. Flair rolls to the floor.
Back in the ring, they lock up again, Sting shoves Flair off,
Flair gets a shoulderblock, Sting tries a leapfrog but Flair puts
on the brakes. Ric struts around, Sting gets a whip and gets the
gorilla press. He backs him into a corner and pounds away on him
with the ten punch sequence. Flair does the face bump then goes
to the eyes and gets in a chop and goes downstairs. Flair backs
Sting into a corner with some chops followed by a snapmare and a
kneedrop. Flair nails another chop, sending Sting to the floor.
Sting gets back up, takes a chop and Flair goes up top, Sting
tosses him off. Whip, Sting tries a dropkick but Flair holds on
to the ropes.
Flair locks on the figure four and grabs the ropes, Stings
shoulders go down for a two. Sting backs the hold to the center
of the ring and then tries to turn it over and does. Flair breaks
the hold. Sting gets a whip, Flair does the upside down bump in
the corner then takes a superplex from the Stinger. Sting gets
the Scorpion Deathlock and wins the final WCW match on TNT.
Sting helps Flair up and they hug each other in the ring. They
shake hands.. now would be a good time for Vince to show up and
ruin the party like the heel that he is
.

From the grand finale
WCW Live!
Bill Banks said that the last Nitro was very emotional. Everybody
knew it was the end.
WCW will continue, but in what form they don't know. After the
show, everybody was
crying and hugging. There was happiness and sadness. Thanks out
the fans that were
watching. Banks watched Flair and Sting having their last match
and he was standing at
the monitor crying. Someone called in and said that the only word
is surreal. Major Props
to Sting. He could have stayed home like Nash is going to do and
just count the money. It
meant a lot watching that and reliving the memories. The one
thing the caller has learned
is that things work out for the best. Jeremy bring in CT Haines
(a photographer at
ringside). CT says it was weird being out there. Seeing Ric and
Sting
it was speechless.
CT says he doesn't know what's going on or what's going to happen
next. He's sure that
they will be back together sometime. Another caller says that the
Sting and Flair match
wasn't the best that they have had, but it was a great way to end
Nitro. We can't look at
the past. We have to go forward and look to the future. Another
person calls in and they
are emotional. Flair and Sting choked him up. It wasn't the best
match that they put on,
but it was really good. Bob says from an emotional standpoint,
you couldn't out do what
they did. Another caller jokingly asks what the status is with
Sting. They laugh about it.
Jeremy says that he had his mark out moment today when he had his
picture taken with
Sting and Flair. Another caller asks if WWF will keep the top WCW
names. Bob says
that they would be crazy not to keep some of them. The reaction
that Vince got on Raw
proved that the fans want to see some of the guys, as long as
they are presented in the
right way. You have to present stars in the way that people want
to see the stars put in
the right storyline. You can't make a new promotion work with all
old guys and all new
guys. You have to mix them up and that's something that maybe WCW
never learned to
do.
Michael Moody & crimsonmask.com
From Lance Storm's
official website regarding the Sting vs Ric Flair match-
The main event itself was very appropriate. The last WCW show
under the Turner banner
had to be headlined by the Nature Boy, and believe me when I tell
you it was a sell out at
the monitor. All of the boys watched this one like they were
still fans. Was it the greatest
match of all time? No, but I loved every second of it. You could
just tell watching these
two that they were having the time of their lives out there. They
hit all of their classic
spots and in true Nature Boy fashion Ric bumped his ass off, and
put his opponent over.
Their embrace at the end of the match was a sign of genuine
respect and a very touching
end to WCW, as we know it.

When their names were
mentioned by Vince McMahon on Raw on who the fans would like
to see in WWF, Bagwell & Booker T. got a big pop whereas
Sting and Scott Steiner got
MASSIVE pops!! And Goldberg's pop was as loud as Austins. This
did not come across on
TV as good as it did live. Sting got a Huge POP from the WWF
crowd but on tv it seemed
moderate.

Announcers: Tony Schiavonne and Scott Hudson
Ric Flairs music hits, and he makes his way to the ring. He asks if he heard Vince say that he holds WCW in the palms in his hands. Flair says that he doesn't think so as he just got done naming all the past champions. Someone told Flair to not go out on the show tonight, but says he doesn't care cause he was the 14 time champion for the greatest organization in all of wrestling. He says that they have been equal to any wrestling organization in the world. He says that in 1981, Vince's dad was on the board of directors and voted for Flair to be the world champion. Flair talks about the boys going out there night in and night out. He says that they aren't going anywhere, and that Vince can't hold them in his palms. He says Vince was never in the dressing room, bleeding, sweating or ever with the boys. He says that WCW is the greatest and Vince can't control their competition. Flair says that his greatest opponent was Sting and he challenges Sting to a match tonight. He says that this is Sting's last chance to be the man.
Sting is back, and says that he wouldn't miss this night for anything and tonight they are going to end their feud once and for all. Sting says that nothing is for sure, and that it is showtime folks.
Ric Flair Vs.
Sting
Ric Flair and Sting stepped up to the plate
for the last WCW match.
Sting, came out to the loud cheers of the crowd. Scott Hudson remarked on Sting's consistent loyalty to the WCW. These two icons locked up, and Sting looked to be in excellent condition. Flair seemed to be overselling Sting's moves, then began to retaliate with a series of chops. Sting began to fight back and the crowd was clearly behind him. Sting gorilla pressed Flair and dropped him to the mat. Sting backed Flair into the corner and punched him to a count of 10. Flair caught Sting with an uppercut. Flair dropped a knee on Stinger's face, and Sting slowly got to his feet. Flair was in control, and continued to pummel Stinger. Sting flipped Flair off the to rope, then missed a drop kick and landed flat on his back. Flair put Sting in the Figure Four, but Stinger refused to tap out. Sting reversed the Figure Four, but Flair escaped. Sting defiantly took Flair's chops, then went after his old foe. Sting went for superplex and Scorpion Death Lock and Flair tapped out. Sting won the last match of the old WCW.
Flair and Sting embraced and shook hands in a genuinely touching moment of true sportsmanship. The looks on their faces told quite a story.

Sting d. "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner with Midajah
Steiner got on the mic, telling Booker T that he was going to give him a preview of Mayhem by beating up Sting. The Stinger and Poppa Pump went to the floor, bringing a steel chair into play in this volatile contest. Sting dominated Scott, splashing him in the corner with his famous move. On a second attempt however, Steiner placed a boot to Sting's face, putting the powerful maniac on the offense. Big Poppa bullied the referee after a close two-count, frustrated with the fact that Sting wouldn't quit. Sting floated over Scott's back for a crucifix maneuver, but Steiner held on. The Stinger twisted around and dropped Poppa Pump with a Scorpion Deathdrop for the 1-2-3. Midajah blocked Sting from leaving the ring, allowing Steiner to attack from behind with a pipe. Sting was placed in a straight jacket and beaten with the pipe and placed in the Recliner as Thunder faded to black.

Mean Gene Interview: Sting
The Stinger told Steiner to keep his head straight so they could both get closer to what they both wanted -- the WCW Title.
London Lethal Lottery Match Sting and Scott Steiner d. Bam Bam Bigelow and That '70s Guy Mike Awesome
After immediately emptying the ring of Awesome and Bigelow, Steiner and Sting lost focus and began to fight each other. All four men fought in and out of the ring, with Big Poppa applying the Steiner recliner on Awesome to advance in the tournament. Bigelow attacked Awesome after the match.
London Lethal Lottery Match Sting and Scott Steiner with Midajah d. KroniK
It was power against power as Big Poppa squared off against Bryan Clark, with Steiner bringing the big man over with a belly to belly suplex. Adams and Steiner went to the floor as Sting applied the Scorpion Deathlock to Clark on the inside, but KroniK used their double-teaming to save the match. Midajah got up from the announcer's table to distract, as Sting reversed a Bryan Clark pump handle slam into a Scorpion Deathdrop for the win. Big Poppa immediately jumped Sting with a chair, but was hit by Booker T, who ran in with a chair of his own. As The Stinger got to his feet, T slammed him in the head with the chair as well as Nitro came to a close.
Nitro 6.Nov.2000
Earlier in the day, Midajah distracted Sting as he walked into the building, allowing Scott Steiner to attack from behind.
"Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner with Midajah and "The Chosen One" Jeff Jarrett d. Sting and Buff Bagwell
Jarrett put the boots to Bagwell after Buff got the crowd to chant "Jarrett sucks." Sting tagged into the contest and exploded on both of his opponents. Steiner caught The Stinger in a huge belly to belly suplex, crashing the painted superstar to the canvas. The Chosen One and Big Poppa worked over The Stinger, punishing him as they took advantage of several double team opportunities. Bagwell got the hot tag and drilled Jarrett out of the ring, before planting Scott with a double arm DDT. Buff landed the Blockbuster on Steiner, but was smashed in the head with Jarrett's guitar as he got up. Sting and Jeff fought up the aisle, as Big Poppa Pump applied the Steiner Recliner on Bagwell.
