JESUS CHRIST IS MY SPONSOR
In today's ratrace it is getting more and more difficult to attract the attention
of a sponsor. And even then, support is only granted if the athlete is giving credit
to his supporters, e.g. by exposing their logo to a world wide audience.
Had I not given any credit to Jesus, still He would never have stopped supporting me.
2.Tim 2:13:
If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
In contrast my Heavenly Sponsor has always been supporting me faithfully
without expecting anything in return. Nor did I have to live up to a certain
standard in order to be accepted. I never had to qualify for His sponsorship.
The only work He expects, is to believe (John 6:29). To believe in His promises, for
example that eternal life is ours, because His Son died in our place 2000 years ago.
John 6:29:
Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
John 3:16:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
His presence and power and love in my life is the assurance that all of His promises
will come true. See 2.Cor. 1:20, 1.Kings 8:56 and Romans 5:5 for confirmation.
There is no greater joy than the deep assurance in the heart of the one
who knows that he belongs to God. To have the assurance of salvation.
Luke 10:20:
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you;
but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
The following two verses are accurately describing why I am still prompted
to promote my Heavenly Sponsor:
Jeremiah 15:16
Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy
and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts
Jeremiah 20:9
Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name.
But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones,
and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
Yes, it is even a privilege to go through difficulties because God's purpose
in the difficulty is to reveal the heavenly treasure that is inside of us
so that it is manifested to the world.
2.Cor. 4:7
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency
of the power may be of God, and not of us.
But the very treasure that causes all kinds of oppositions is the very
assurance that we belong to God and that we will see Him face to face as
soon as we close our eyes in death (2.Cor. 5:8)
James 1:2
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Romans 5: 3-5
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad
in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
To be corrected by the Lord down here on earth is a great privilege since
it is the greatest confirmation that we truly belong to Him and that we can
never loose our salvation.
Hebrews 12:5-8
5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children,
My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom
  the father chasteneth not?
8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
JOY AND FUN IN GOD'S PLAN
We are called to a life of faith and everything else is just added to our life by God's providence.
Mt 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;
and all these things shall be added unto you.
There is plenty of reason to rejoice in everything, as we are told in Philippians 4:4
but there is no reason to boast in anything because of 1.Cor.4:7:
For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that
thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory,
as if thou hadst not received it?
I thank God for all the things that I was able to see and to experience.
Out of that thankfulness I just want to be a roadsign to heaven, pointing
to my heavenly sponsor, Jesus Christ.
THE ERROR OF THE INDUSTRIALIZED WORLD
Even though Christianity has left us with a rich intellectual heritage the mentality
of the majority is so contrary to the Hebrew-Christian mindset. What has happened?
The reason for almost all scientifical errors is the exaltation of the human mind above the knowledge of God,
because the human mind is too short (John 4:11) to reach to the invisible side (core, essence) of the physical world.
John 4:11
The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep:
from whence then hast thou that living water?
The visible, measurable side of objects is related to their quantity. The invisible side is related to their quality.
IS QUANTITY BAD?
No, of course not. God created a visible universe in order for us to measure it and to collect the data (Gen 1:28).
However the data alone doesn't take us to the intrinsic value of a measured object.
We need to start with the right assumption based on the witness of Creation in order
to know what we are looking for (Hb. 11:3). Only then the data will lead us to the right conclusions.
If quality precedes quantity in our value system, we will be able to apply the Word of God
in a powerful way and then we will be truly victorious in life.
I will use a car as an example about quality preceding quantity (with lots of PS, mp/h, cm³, ...).
Based on these outward data we may accept the invitation to go for a ride.
There is nothing wrong with enjoying these features, but we also want to be concerned
with the driver's experience, if he/she is responsible, sober, ...(the quality!)
because we simply want to arrive safely at our destination.
If we rightly divide the Word of Truth (2.Tim.2:15) we will always see quality preceding quantity.
As You look at the examples listed below You will see how much the observation of this principle
will help You to
1.) undertand the Bible
2. deal with many situations in Your daily experience.
I have summarized a few examples that illustrate the contrast between quantity and quality in the table below:
