Passend zu dieser einst so verrufenen
Gegend, bekannt für seine Rotlicht-Etablissements
und zwielichtigen Spelunken dreht sich in der Installation
"about a boy" alles einzig und allein um den
Penis. Eine Satire oder wenn Sie es lieber andersherum
bevorzugen auch eine Hommage an die Männlichkeit.
Zweideutigkeiten, Umdeutungen der Machtverhältnisse
oder ...
Wenn Sie Ihren Freunden davon erzählen möchten,
können Sie auch gerne sagen, dass sich Andrea Pritschow
einfach über Sexualisierung in unserer Gesellschaft
lustig macht.
Eine Zeit lang, meint die Künstlerin, wird sie
sich noch mit Penissen beschäftigen und wenn Größe
wirklich eine Rolle spielen sollte, werden sie in Zukunft
größer und größer werden.

Andrea Pritschow ( http://andreapritschow.de
) studierte Angewandte Kulturwissenschaften, Philosophie
und Soziologie und schrieb lange über Kunst und Musik
(unter anderem für das Jetzt Magazin, Tussi Deluxe
und Spex). Seit zwei Jahren ist sie hauptsächlich als
bildende Künstlerin tätig und lebt in Köln.

Suitably to this area which was once shady and well-known
for the redlight scene and the honky-tonk entertainment,
everything turns in the installation "about a boy"
solely on the penis. A satire or if you rather prefer
it the other way round also a homage to the masculinity.
Ambiguity, reinterpretation of the power relations or...
If you liked to tell your friends about it, you can also
say that Andrea Pritschow simply makes fun of the sexualization
in our society. For some time, believes the artist, she
will still deal with dicks and if size should really matter,
they will become bigger and bigger in future.

| Andrea Pritschow ( http://andreapritschow.de
) has been studying applied cultural sciences, philosophy
and sociology. For a long time she was also writing about
art and music for different magazines (Jetzt Magazin, Tussi
Deluxe and Spex, amongst others). Since two years she is
principally involved in fine arts. She lives and works in
Cologne. |
