NIKA KUPYROVA arbeitet in ihren Installationen mit ortsbezogene Fundstücken aus der unmittelbaren Umgebung. Immer wieder aufs Neue ist sie auf der Suche nach der Sinnlichkeit die verlassenen oder von anderen weggelegten Gegenständen innewohnt.

In ihrer :] Schauraum - Installation "aufheben:keep" ikonisiert und ironisiert die in Edinburgh lebende Künstlerin Häuslichkeit, indem sie Einblicke in einen erfundenen Lebensraum ermöglicht. Die ehemaligen Bewohner sind dabei nur noch akustisch anwesend.

Durch das Neuarrangement der Fundstücke erfindet die Künstlerin Geschichten mit offenen Enden und verführt die Betrachter in die Irre.

In her site-specific installations NIKA KUPYROVA works with narratives from her immediate surrounding.
It is a personal journey, a continuous search for the sensuousness of the desolate, for a human imprint that is inherent in abandoned objects.

In her :] Schauraum installation "aufheben:keep" this Edinburgh-based artist iconizes and ironizes domesticity by allowing an insight into a fictional living space. Nika Kupyrova re-assembles found materials to construct open-ended narratives, works with sound to create a sense of invisible presence and uses her power as a story-teller to guide you through the space, to confess and to mislead.
