  Meeting the Security Challenge

The Swedish Embassy and The Swedish Trade Council invite you to a seminar on technological solutions for civil security.

Background

Security is a highly prioritized issue in both Germany and Sweden. During the recent years, current events such as the threat of terrorist attacks, violent rampage and inadequate surveillance of public areas have resulted in an intense discussion on the importance of security precautions. As Sweden will hold the EU-presidency during the second half of 2009, international and foremost European security and safety is one of the topics that will be emphasized.

In the course of the EU-presidency, a “European Security Week” will be held in Stockholm September 29th- October 2nd 2009. During this week the first Euro-Atlantic Stakeholder conference will take place, as well as the fourth European Security Research Conference, following the one that was held during the German EU-presidency in Berlin 2007.

As a bi-lateral event, the Swedish Embassy in Berlin and the Swedish Trade Council aim to highlight the area of civil security through a seminar and networking event. The Seminar will be held in German and English.
