Black Guard Squadron

"We're supposed to be the GOOD guys! Oh, never mind..."
The Squadron
Black Guard Squadron has been built around a core of ex-Imperial veterans. One of the last Loyalist units in the Praxium, the Black Guard is still dedicated to the Old Imperial values of Order and Discipline. Not much bothered by fine philosophical points, they see the war not as a struggle of Good versus Evil, but of the forces of Chaos against those of Order. Willing to use any tactic against their hated Sith foes, the guardians of the New Order have joined forces with those of the Old.
They will continue their fight. They will give no quarter.
They came out of your worst nightmare...
The Crew
Unlike many other squadrons, the Black Guard has no permanently assigned ground crew and support staff. Being formed mainly from Kuati veterans with a considerable wealth of technical expertise, most battle damage can be fixed by the men themselves.
Captain Vordarian
Squadron Leader

Age: 29
Homeworld: Kuat
Garik Lord Vordarian comes from an ancient Kuati House. He is a veteran pilot who earned his wings in His Imperial Majesty's Navy. He has served with Renegade, Inc. before following his fellow Loyalists in joining the Jedi Praxium. Although friendly, even compassionate, and a loving husband in his private life, on duty he is able to kill without feeling- neither malice nor remorse.

Flight Corporal Mohnke
Quartermaster
![]()

Age: 30
Homeworld: Kuat
A long-time associate of Vordarian, Kal Mohnke has been pressed into Imperial service after being convicted for theft, fraud and embezzlement. He is currently holding the record in both the Imperial and Praxium Navy for being busted back to Crewman for a total of 172 times. Only his considerable technical and scrounging talents, as well as the unwavering patronage of his Squadron leader have so far prevented a dishonourable discharge.

Flight Officer Pfeiffer
Second-in-Command
![]()

Age: 26
Homeworld: Eriadu
Ricol Pfeiffer served for two years in the prestigious Imperial 2nd Assault Fleet. When the officers and ratings of that fleet resigned en masse after the Sith coup, Pfeiffer went with them. After a short and unsuccessful stint as a civilian pilot, he met an old comrade and was persuaded to join up with the Praxium.

Flight Corporal Albrecht
![]()

Age: 32
Homeworld: Kuat
Percht Albrecht hasn't had the shiniest of all Imperial careers. Instead of being assigned to a frontline unit, he served for years in Frontier Fleet, way off in the Outer Rim. There is little glory to be won in the pacification of primitive indigs. Having lost an eye during a slave revolt on X3726, he went home to recuperate. The Reunification came up during his leave, and he deserted rather than serve under 'Dark Empire slime', as he puts it. He doesn't talk about the time afterwards until, a few months later, he signed up with the Loyalist forces.
Flight Corporal T'eroglu
![]()

Age: 23
Homeworld: Corsin
Vamag T'eroglu was a shuttle pilot in the Kuat Naval Guard. While retraining for fighter duty at the Academy, he fell in with a couple of other cadets who couldn't stomach the Sith takeover. For a time, they raided Imperial commerce in a refitted YT-1300 freighter, until they joined up with the Praxium to get better equipment to continue their fight.
Flight Sergeant Nachod
![]()

Age: 24
Homeworld: Corellia
Guntiir Nachod started his flying career with CorSec. He transferred to the Corellian Sector Fleet and took part in the less-than-wildly successful Operation Tenax. He always stood by his convictions and his belief in the New Order, during the Reunification and even through the Sith coup. Only when he saw more and more Old Imperials vanish into obscurity, to be replaced by worthless Sith toadies, he began to question those beliefs. With the removal of Moff Aintab he had seen enough. That night, he took a freighter to Alderaan, and from there to Republica, where he joined the Praxium.
Flight Corporal Sokol
![]()

Age: 27
Homeworld: Balmorra
Trel Sokol was an accomplished violinist, a loving husband and proud father of a young daughter. And a pilot for the Dark Empire. After the Reunification, he was transferred to the 1st Assault Fleet, to keep an eye on the Old Imperials there, who, as his superior told him, were 'politically unreliable'. Serving for the fist time in a real military, he was impressed by the superior equipment and Esprit de Corps. Still, during the Sith coup, he did what he perceived as his duty and helped arrest many of his comrades who were planning to defect, and was recommended for his actions. It all came to an end when 'that intestinal parasite Vodo decided to compensate for his shriveled, little bodily attributes, and had some of his cronies conduct random bombardments of civilian settlements'. That day his family died in the shattered ruins of their home. That day, Sokol sabotaged the fighters in his squadron and left. Due to his background, he isn't fully trusted, but his enthusiasm for killing Imperials is slowly changing that.
Crewman Reiss

Age: 17
Homeworld: Alderaan
Miska Reiss was at the Imperial Academy during the Sith coup. He and a few other cadets, among them T'eroglu and Udvardy, decided to defect. They left during a dark, stormy night, but not before using the rig the Academy kept for painting the hulls of their training ships to paint 'Down with the Usurper' in eight meter high letters on the cupola of the Administration Building.

Flight Sergeant Greuner
Chief Mechanic
![]()

Age: 29
Homeworld: Kuat
An old comrade of Vordarian, Tolf Greuner served under him in the Dark Agents TIE Bomber squadron. Like so many, he left after Uebles' putsch and tried his hand at technical work on one of Kuat's famous shipyards. When the Black Guard was formed, he heeded his former commander's call and became the squadron's techie.
Flight Corporal Bardolff
![]()

Age: 30
Homeworld: Carida
Karm Bardolff, despite his wish to be a TIE pilot, spent his time in the Empire as a Tech, evaluating enemy hardware. Still, he managed to cram the occasional 'test flight' into his schedule, becoming quite proficient with small ships. More familiar with Uglies, Headhunters and Rebel fighters than with the TIE series, Bardolff had an easier time than most other ex-Imperial pilots getting used to the ships the Praxium fields.
Crewman Udvardy

Age: 18
Homeworld: Ghorman
Ehden Udvardy was a cadet at the Imperial Academy when the Sith murdered the most beloved man in the galaxy- his Emperor. Shocked and enraged, the young cadet and a few friends fled the Academy to get revenge for their Imperial Master. Among the 'grizzled old veterans' of the Black Guard, Udvardy is glad for Reiss' presence. Not only for coeval company, but also because someone other gets called 'kid'.
Crewwoman Baszano
![]()

Age: 21
Homeworld: Tralus
Lira 'Butch' Baszano is the only female in the squadron. One might think this would be a problem, considering the bunch of scoundrels that make up most of the squadron. Well, it isn't. Butch, apart from being quite proficient at brawling, owed to a youth on the streets and her IOCI training, has absolutely no interest in starting an affair with any of the boys. Their dates, now, that'd be another story...
Note: Most rank insignia shown in the holos are NOT current. Also, uniforms shown are not standard Praxium issue. The unit originally wore their old Imperial uniforms with red stripes adorned with the Praxium ensign on the sleeves. However, those were becoming too threadbare, and Mohnke acquired a few bales of cloth, so we had new ones made. We didn't have a fixed template, so, well, you see the slight differences in cut...
Note: Mohnke's holo is actually the one he used for his official ID. Really. Of course, it got him busted back to Crewman. Again.
Note: Lieutenant Vordarian has repeatedly forbidden the men to paint their machines with references to 'Emperor' Uebles' mother. "He has no mother anyway."
