A week ago I wondered whether I should add more shoot-'em-ups or some artillery games first. I've settled for the artillery games, but it's not all that easy. Since every game I upload requires updates on the pages of the others, I'll upload them all at once, but that's seven or eight games at least, and will require some structural changes as well. I will, for example, then have no less than three games called Tank Wars, so I'm thinking of introducing Wikipedia-style disambiguation pages. Besides, I'll have to rewrite some articles due to new information, so this is gonna take a while. So I've decided to upload some other stuff in the meantime so you won't get bored.
The new game for today is Cascade,
a SameGame for the
Commodore 64. It may have been the
first on this platform (not the last), but I'm not sure and have
grown cautious with such statements. I'm pretty positive however
that it is the first and only game created completely by scene
musician Lars Hutzelmann.
Then you can now download the Amiga version of Cybersphere. It took me a while to find it, but now it's up. This is a demo version. I have no idea if Clay Hellman still sells the full version. He might even release it for free if you ask him, he did it with the DOS version two years ago.
I noticed that the Newcomer homepage is down. I left the link up, since it might be temporary, but added a link to Protovision, who sell the hardcopy of the game. I don't know if the old concept (you can download the game for free, buying it will entitle you to hints) is still valid, so I refrained from putting it up myself.
Finally there are a couple of smaller updates. I asked Pavel Pola, the author of Exploding Atoms, if he had ever written any other games, and he replied, a couple of Czech text adventures. And there are some new resp. updated links on the Commodore 64 and NEC PC-9801 pages.
