Nearly four years ago I added a list of PC-98 games. Since then, it has been under construction. Now I've finally finished it. It is now three times the size and should really contain every game on this website where I could verify the existence of a PC-98 version. Each game is now listed under its Japanese name as well. If you want to search for these games on Japanese websites, these are the names to use, even if the title screen uses Romaji.
There are a few interesting details. While quite a number of French games were translated and ported to the PC-98, the only German game I could find is Logical. This astonished me a bit, since a the other way round a number of Japanese games have been translated into German that were never available in English, for example The Atlas, and German things are in general popular in Japan. It's not so uncommon for a Japanese game to have a German name or subtitle.
Another thing that astonished me was how many of the ported games are on my website. There weren't many in all, Probably something between one and two hundred foreign games were released on the PC-98. Of these, I cover about 60. That's one out of two or three.
That's all for today. I have not added any new PC-98 screenshots yet, only updated some pages that have version lists, like Battle Chess, Little Computer People, and Roadwar 2000.
Just a curiosity: At the moment, the Daggerfall page is the second most viewed. I guess yesterday's release of Skyrim has renewed interest in the Elder Scrolls games. And not only those: Gridiron, Bethesda's first game, gets lots of hits as well, though not enough to make it into the top twelve.
