Adventure Games
This, for quite a while, was the dominating type of computer game and then practically vanished. First they were text adventures, where you typed in your actions at the keyboard. These go back far beyond the time of the PC. Later, graphics were added, at first only as illustrations without change in the gameplay. This led to the point-and-click adventures made famous by Sierra and Lucas Arts.
