I loved the Sound inspired by Griegs "Peer Gynt" while the Landscape was build and then suddenly interrupted by those dark tunes, as if to say "War has come to this peacefull place!"Arsenal
This is a very fun game, even with such simplicity. After you win, a pair of your soldiers march halfway across the screen and return. Sometimes, one of the soldiers doesn't pay attention and keeps on marching while the other one returns as normal. Suddenly, the distracted soldier turns around, and runs to catch up with other soldier! It gave an opportunity for a defeated player to mock the victor!SkrapYard
Artillery Duel was released for Atari 2600, Commodore Vic-20, Commodore 64, and ColecoVisionin ascending order of graphics quality. The Colecovision graphics were definitely the best. But on every platform there were the randomly placed trees and elaborate backgrounds with snow-covered mountains and clouds.
The Commodore 64 version was the main inspiration for the later Amiga game BattleDuel, which is accordingly the only artillery game to share the abovementioned features.
