Artworx Strip Poker is the classic of the genre and was released and re-released on various platforms from 1982 through 1988, under the name Strip Poker II. But all these versions are basically the same game.
Strip Poker Three however, released in 1991 for DOS/VGA and Amiga, was a completely new game. You now play against three opponents, and digitized speech was added. In the DOS version, this digitized speech is played over the PC speaker. This is a rare feature and about the only problem you encounter on some, especially modern, computers. I like to play it on my IBM PS/2 50, which is fast enough and gives very good sound quality over its speaker.
Just a word about the nomenclature: the name of the game was always simply Strip Poker, not Artworx Strip Poker. But since there have been many strip poker games since, it has become good practice to include the company name, especially since it was prominently displayed on all three title screens. An apostrophe was added to it only in the third game, and the version numbers were really II (Roman numerals) and Three (spelled out). On the Amiga, this game was also known as Deluxe Strip Poker 2.
In 1994 Artworx remade Strip Poker Three as Strip Poker Professional. It featured 640×480 SVGA graphics, more opponents, and, for the first time I believe, a status graphic that showed the undress state of the player. With some enhancements, it is still in production.
Finally, Artworx actually made a Strip Poker game with the girls that you will actually enjoy to see naked! This time you can even play with three of them in the same time. The graphics are much better than in previous versions while the sound is digitalized (altough only PC Speaker is supported). You will need much more skill and time to win the game, especially since the girls have their own characters as well. Some are more keen to bluff, some play more patient while some prefer to play safe.
In conclusion, The game plays a solid poker game. [ ] If you must have a strip poker game then get this, its much better than all the other commercial ones that I have played.
