It only struck me when I was compiling this page that Blocks from Hell is the ideal Tetris to play on an IBM PS/2, any PS/2. The only thing it really requires as far as hardware is concerned is VGA or MCGA, something all PS/2s have. It does not support any sound cards, something that it always problematic in this series. It runs on any processor. And whether or not you like the garish graphics, they do show off the potential of VGA well.
The permanently animated backgrounds can be a nuisance, but I faound that after playing a while I just filtered them out. As for the size of the executable, it remained the smallest graphic Tetris until Marko Kleine Berkenbusch's Tätris six years later, Miroslav Nemecek's Tetrix matched it, but did not beat it.
