I do like Carnivores 2 a lot, so I could not resist trying out this game, which is supposed to be a sort of sequel. But it was not created by Action Forms, but by Sunstorm under a license. This is rarely a good idea. The basic idea sounds similar and good enough: It's dinosaurs again, but this time they have arrived in a crashed spaceship and you have to hunt them in different environments, including a subway (as I found out later, you can also play as a dinosaur if you choose).
Nevertheless the first mission takes you outdoors, to the valley where the spaceship crashed. And this valley looks nothing as good as the islands from Carnivores 2. Colors are brighter, I was reminded of Final Fantasy VIII, which isn't bad in itself, but simply not as realistic.
Nor is the gameplay anything similar. Carnivores: Cityscape is basically a first person shooter. As you protrude into the valley, dinosaurs will attack you, small things at first, you have to look downwards constantly. I never saw them before they attacked me. I'm not sure what the sniper rifle is good for.
Actually, this is as far as I got. No, I did not get killed, I simply quit and uninstalled the thing, freeing up hard drive space for other, hopefully better games.
If you're into first person shooters, then maybe this is not such a bad game. But if you are looking for something like Carnivores 2, stay away, for it isn't.
