Cover Girl Strip Poker

What is it?
A strip poker game designed in association with the Daily Sport newspaper, 1991, Amiga and DOS/VGA. This game is from Denmark.
What computer or emulator will it run on?
I played it on a 386, but probably any PC with a VGA card will do.

Cover Girl Strip Poker is certainly no highlight of the strip poker genre, but it is fun in its own way. You get a choice of eight opponents, some even have little movies where you see them take off their clothes on a sort of stage. I think this is the first use of video in a strip poker game.

Graphics are rather bad, even on the PC version that used 256 colors. I only noticed I was wrong when I converted this screenshot here. You will often find the game dated 1995, possibly this year saw an unaltered re-release. The Amiga version is also known as Cover Girl Poker. This was what The Sales Curve printed on the disks after they licensed it 1992. It seems they re-issued the game in 1995, this time under the title Cover Girls Strip Poker, with a plural s.

At the start of the game there is a sound menu, but the "music" consist only of jingles when you have won a hand. You don't lose anything if you don't hear it. When you are asked if you want comments from the girls, choose no. It slows down gameplay and gets pretty annoying fast.

Though Cover Girl Strip Poker was designed in association with the Daily Sport, a UK newspaper, it was developed by a Danish company, Emotional Pictures. Jacob Andersen, who did the 16-bit graphics, later worked on the remarkable shooter Banshee.
