The King of Chicago

Chicago in the 30's.

Prohibition. Power struggles and rampant crime. Only the toughest of the tough survive. Capone used to call the shots. But Capone is up the river and Chicago is up for grabs. Violence, intimidation, bribery, treachery, and clout are your weapons as you battle the legendary Capone mob for control of the windy city.

The King of Chicago is a remarkable game in several ways:

It was the first Macintosh game that got ported to practically every relevant gaming platform of its time, and there weren't many later, either.
It was the first game (at least as far as I know) to use 3d-rendered characters.
It is the only gangster sim I know that stems from the USA.

In the ports, the rather weird characters were changed to something more conventional, and, to be honest, better looking. The best version is probably, unsurprisingly, the one for the Amiga, closely followed by the one for the Apple ][GS.

Most PC screenshots I have seen show CGA graphics, but there may have been an EGA version too. Even the CGA graphics look surprisingly good.
