Equadrix

What is it?
A Tetris clone with mathematics, 2006, Windows. This game is from the Netherlands.
What computer or emulator will it run on?
I guess a Pentium II will do.

Talk about weird Tetris clones. On first glance, Johan de Ruiter's Equadrix looks just like any other hi-res, graphically enhanced Tetris, as they have been around for a while. But you'll wonder why there are numbers and mathematical operators on the pieces. And you'll finally notice that something is really, really different when finished rows don't vanish as they usually do.

To make the rows vanish, you have to arrange pieces in an equation that gets you the pre-determined goal. In the first game, the goal is one. So, if any row or columns shows something like 7/7 or 6–5, you have won, and the rows will vanish. When you reach a level (this depends on your chosen difficulty setting), all the pieces in the well will vanish.

Equadrix certainly takes some time to get used to; even though the documentation has meanwhile been improved, there are still some aspects you will have to figure out yourself. But then again, is there any other game where you can find out if you're better than Plato, or just better than Heidegger?
