Flowers Mania by Krzysztof Dudek (programming), Adam Powroznik (graphics), and Michal Szpilowski (music)you can also play it online as Flower Powerwon the first prize of the Kaz Kompo 2006 (130 Euro). Kaz is the founder of, and main contributor to, atari.online.pl. The Kompo was designed somewhat in competition to the yearly ABBUC contest. It was, however, not a contest in the strictest sense, but a retroactive poll, announced in January 2007, about all the 8-bit Atari games released in 2006. So basically Flowers Mania is what Polish forum visitors considered the best Atari game in 2006.
Flowers Mania can be classified as a Columns variant. The flowers float down in pairs (as in Dr. Mario), four flowers of the same color that touch will be removed. Thex do not have to be all in a row or column, and diagonals don't count. As you level up, things get more complex; there are, for example, sleepy flowers, that can be removed only after they have been woken up by removing a flower next to them, there is Dr. Yellow, who simply gets in the way and can be removed only by placing Mr. Green on top of him. Mr. Green is very helpful, he will remove all the flowers of the color of the one on which he lands.
