In the second half of the 90s there was great interest in Othello games. The center of this interest was France, where at least two dozen programs of this type were created. Most of these programs are now hard to find. At least some, I fear, are lost forever, with others its just a matter of finding them. When the interest ceased around 2000, websites ceased to be updated, and links broke.
LOthello (Little Othello), due to its unique name, wasn't difficult to find. One of its authors, Matthieu Klein, meanwhile at Université Laval in Québec, still keeps it on his homepage (the name is a pun: Klein is the German word for little). There, you can get the latest version, with interface and documentation in French, English, and German, some added features, and the C source code.
Here, you can download the first version, which is French only, but has a nice animation when you place a piece (unfortunately, I wasn't able to capture it in a screenshot).
