Psychedelic backgrounds, funky mod music—MEGA Tetris is just like those Netscape-enhanced websites that were in fahion at the time. Take a look at some old Doom fansites and you'll know what I mean (well, of course websites would have to have MIDI, not mod music, but let's nor split any hairs). Good thing the graphics are not animated.
But behind this garish outside, MEGA Tetris works very well. The controls are just as we are used to: up-arrow rotates, space drops. The sound effect for a dropped piece is satisfying and positioned in a stereo space. The menu, too, is snappy.
