Muriel Tramis' first game takes place on Martinique, shortly before the eruption of Pelee 1902-05-07, which serves as a time limit for the game. As a specialist for supernatural phenomena with the convenient ability to shape-shift into a kolibri (fast travel), you are to solve the mystery of a ghost terrifying the inhabitants. Not exactly easy, since the French government is not really all that popular on Martinique.
As in nearly any adventure game, you might die, for example by being bitten by a trigonozephalus, a very poisonous snake, or you could be changed into sourougnan, some sort of bat.
When the game was ported to the 16-bit platforms in 1988, the graphics profited from the higher screen resolution, but the colors stayed about the same as on the CPC. The DOS version is very rare, when I first wrote this page in March 2005, I did not even know about its existence.
Mewilo came with a printed short story by Patrick Chamoiseau, who wrote the dialogs, and a tape with music by Malavoi, who made the game music. It has some educational aspects, some NPCs will help you only if you know a bit about Martinique. The game was translated into German, but as far as I could find out, not into English.
