I really liked Bubble Bath Babes, so I thought I'd like Peek-A-Boo Poker too. At least a little bit. I was wrong. I couldn't stand it long enough to even get to my first reward picture.
First there's the music. The game gives you only the choice between two equally annoying soundtracks, you can't turn it off. Well, this can be remedied by turning off the speakers. Then the game is slow. You have to sit through a boring deal animation at the beginning of every turn. If you win, you have to wait while the pot counts down and your stash counts up. And during normal gameplay there is nothing you want to look at: The cards are ugly, and the portrait of your opponent isn't all that appealing either. Finally, the NES interface isn't all that great for playing poker, and your choices are limited.
I can say little about the game mechanics. In most strip poker
games, you play until your opponent loses all her money, then she
will sell
one of her clothing items. Peek-A-Boo Poker does
not seem to keep track of your opponent's finances. I guess you
just get a reward picture when you have won a certain amount of
money. I can't say. I didn't play it long enough.
