As would be expected from a Japanese game, the inspiration for Pipeful Sunday, in both graphics and gameplay, was not the original Pipe Mania computer game, but the Pipe Dream arcade machine: You have to connect the source and drain pieces within a given time span, which tends to be more difficult.
The game is best played with a gamepad. If you use the keyboard, Z selects and places, not a very intuitive choice and not a good one if you don't have a QWERTY keyboard. X increases the speed. There is no input configuration, and no mouse support.
