A strange strip poker, written by Holger Ahrens and originally
published by Individual Software Service, who between
1983 and 1987 published several utilities and educational programs
as well as some hardware (Keyboard Mouse and Super-Keyboard) for the
ZX Spectrum. They had two other games, a maze game and a text
adventure. Individual Software Service was a subsidiary of Jürgen
Schumpich GmbH, the biggest importer of Sinclair hardware in
Germany.
It's difficult to say anything about Pokestripper. The opponent art isn't exactly a masterpiece of Spectrum graphics, but the cards are more detailed than in most other games, and the custom font is impressive; the interface is irritating, but the game has its interesting aspects like a sort of dialog. To my knowledge, it is the only strip poker game ever developed for the Spectrum alone.
In the UK, the game was published in 1987/88 as the ZX version of Hollywood Poker, with a nifty loading screen showing one of Hajime Sorayama's Sexy Robots. Below are menu screens with the two different copyright notices in comparison. The font was changed in gameplay as well, but the opponent names remained and thus did not match those of Hollywood Poker.
