In the sequel Rick, who had been fashioned after Indiana Jones originally, became more like Flash Gordon, and the setting one of 50s pulp science fiction. There are significant similarities between this incarnation of Rick and both Duke Nukem and Blake Stone, who both may have been inspired by him.
The PC version now supported VGA and AdLib and was thus now pretty close to the Amiga and Atari versions. The Sinclair ZX Spectrum version however lacked the clarity of the original.
