During the Holy Crusades, the brave, adventurous young soldiers of the Christian world travelled to the Holy Land to fight the Medieval Infidel Saracens.

As Ilan The Crusader, you must make your way through mazes of stone walls that are patrolled by fanatical guards. Your goal: destroy the Chief of the Saracens.

Your only weapon is a longbow; but when your arrows shoot straight and true, they have the power to crash through walls or start a chain reaction of explosions.

Mazes are booby-trapped with bombs; blue-steel balls thunder heavily after you; and locked doors present a challenge to your wit and ingenuity.

A few notes: Saracen was entirely the product of Ilan Ginzburg, who was credited as Alan Ginsburg for unknown reasons. He obviously wrote it while studying in the US, in any case for a US company, and it was released primarily on US platforms. It remained his only game. Saracen was later remade, with improved graphics and a more credible setting, as S.C. Out.
