Ataxx is sort of a cross between Othello and checkers. It goes back to the Amiga game Infection and has been especially popular on the Macintosh. Most Ataxx clones are nearly impossible to beat, Alan Meiss' Taktix, which creates a different random board for each game, is a nice exception. You can beat it occasionally. As far as I know, this is Alan Meiss' only game that has an AI at all; neither Shogatsu nor Hex Jump are in need of one.
