In the 80s, books with collections of
BASIC programs were common.
Text-only programs would work on many platforms, while graphical
programs tended to be platform-specific. This nice little
artillery game by David A. Ponting was found in
Sixty Programs for the Commodore 64
, published by
Pan Books. It was typed in by the crew of
GB64.
There is also an Amiga game named Tanx. Except for the fact that they are both artillery games, and both from the UK, these two games are not related.
