I was a bit sceptic at first, but this is really what the official (Mirrorsoft) version of Tetris on the Commodore 64 looked like: radically different from all the other platforms where it looked about the same. Why this was I do not know, But the result, optically, is spectacular.
The main issue I have with it is that the descending shapes do not scroll, but rather lurch and flicker their way down the screen. The absence of a proper scroll routine is disappointing, particularly as it seems to link with the fact that the blocks do not immediately respond to joystick movement, which is very frustrating and unforgiving when the game speeds up.
