Tetris Unlimited
Become tetris sportman! This is no longer only puzzle/action game. Now it's sport game.
In most tetris/pentix games you play for score. And I've been playing for score too. But it was a bit boring, because game is too long and not so breathtaking as I want. But when I found pentix game for speed, boring dissapeared. It was much more fun & interest to me. Average game lasts for about 100 seconds and there's almost no limit for progressing. I've been playing for speed (in game EGAPET) for 1 year and my progress was from around 6.6 to 38.0 lines per minute! (note, that when I found EGAPET, I've already been playing tetris/pentix for 5 years! Is it mind booster?? I don't know, but this progress seems fantastic to me). While I was playing it I had a lot of thoughts and ideas about tetris playing, so finaly I decided to write my own tetris.
And now it's ready! This game is not super hi-quality game in graphics/sounds, but it does what it should. It provides convinient playing! (I really don't understand tetrises with super graphics but totaly unplayable). There are many new features and options (2 new keys, almost unlimited playfield, etc.) Also there's build-in feature for playing world tetris championships that will be held every month. You play & send your result to me by e-mail. Special program processes all results and generates table which is available by WWW.
Features:
- Playfield is not limited to 20–30 lines as in most tetris/pentix games. In TU playfield can be 400 lines! So game doesn't end when you fill entire playfield, it just scrolls down.
- There are 4 new keys: mirror figure, exchange with next figure, drop and move left, drop and move right.
- Real-time graphs for highest non-empty line, speed and peak speed.
- Playback feature. When you finish playing—hit backspace to see how you were playing. Did you ever see how do you play? Also, you can view any game at any time, because all games are logged and saved.
- Practice mode. Results do not save here.
- Advanced statistic. TU counts almost everything. Discover a lot of information about yourself and your playing.
- Different difficuly levels. Easy/Normal/Hard/Random or you can set your own difficulty. Each figure has it's own chance to fall. Decrease fall chance for hard figures and game will be easier.
- Build-in option for TU championships. (see champ.txt for details)
- You can change size of playfield. –, + keys will do it.
- Custom color setup. Setup your favorite colors and enjoy playing!
- Playfield map.
