The label RPG
should be applied with caution to Trapped.
If you are looking for a deep storyline, fleshed-out NPCs, in fact, any
NPCs at all, you will be disappointed. Trapped is a dungeon romp that
differs from your average Doom clone mainly in
having character stats, an inventory, magic, and puzzles. That and of
course a fantasy setting, and all the weapons are melee only. If you
have played Daggerfall, think of it as a very
long dungeon crawl with no way to ever get to the surface.
You have the choice between four characters: Fighter, Knight, Hunter, Dwarf. They differ in basic stats and which weapon they can use best. There are six weapons in total: dagger, sword, morning star, hammer, pike, war axe. Just like in an FPS you can switch weapons at any time with the number keys.
Trapped was created by a German demo group, Oxyron (previously known as Gloom and even before as TIF), or rather one of their members, TTS. It was released commercially on CD. How successful it was, is hard to say, I found only one review, but there was a sequel, Trapped II.

Trapped was released 1996. It is a kind of role playing game with traditional 3D features such as textures, dynamic lights, stairs, etc. and some special features like lens-flares, shadow maps, anti-aliasing and bluring just to name a few of them all. The offemidnightblue 3D engine is very special, and it's more an understatement to call it special only. You have to kill some evil monsters, find and collect keys and other useful utilities, deactivate traps and lots more of those traditional 'RPG' features which are making these kind of games so special.
This game will run on an every Amiga with at least 2 MB RAM and a 68020 (or higher) processor unit, but if you have a 68030 processor with 50 MHZ with 4 MB Fast-RAM you will get FAST screen refresh rates in the best possible quality, nothing less but 1x1 pixel resolution in 256 colors. Supported Color Depths modes are 64 color EHB, 256 colors AGA and 256 colors Graffiti.

Throughout the catacombs you will pick up items on the way such as new weapons, potions to help repair health, armour, strength and speed of movement. Spells can help you along the way with a spell called Magic Map showing where everything is, another Monstor Fear causes the enemy to run away from you. Picking up a Candle brightens up the room but of course it gradually decreases in brighteness. The game has been cleverly designed to make it as real as possible and it succeeds.
