Like Radon, VikTRIS is a lush and late Tetris clone for Windows 3.1, yet its style is completely different. Vikram Madan writes and illustrates children's books, which probably accounts for the music (Skip to my Lou), the goofy sound effects when you clear a row and the general playfulness. Instead of changing the appearance of the blocks you can here change the background, in the registered version only, which also gives you the super mode with weird block shapes and bombs.
VikTRIS dates back to 1994, but was developed in its 16-bit instance up to 1998. The version you can download here is 1.7 from 1997. It is shareware, so you can't change the background and there is no super mode. Meanwhile Vikram Madan has declared the game freeware, you can download the full version 2.0 from 1998 from his homepage, along with an updated VikTRIS XP from 2003, with a 32-bit executable, more backgrounds and some added features.
