Two workers have the task of carrying crocodiles to ponds. But there are obstacles: boulders and pits. To remove these obstacles, the boulders have to be pushed into the pits, making the way free. To accomplish this, there are bulldozers. The rules are in detail:
| Sokoban | |
|---|---|
- The workers can mount and unmount the bulldozers from the sides.
- Bulldozers can move forwards and back.
- Bulldozers can push the boulders in front of them, and they can push other bulldozers sideways.
- The workers can carry the crocodiles, but cannot take them into the bulldozers. They can drop them any time.
Part of what makes this game so great is that the theme is just intrinsically funny, though the pun it is built on and the playing on characters will be lost to non-Japanese. In Japanese, crocodile garden (Wani-no-Nawi, わにの庭) is a sort of spoonerism, and the icon is the katakana for wa, ワ, made up as a crocodile's snout. But still the simple thought of dropping crocodiles into ponds is just hilarious.
The other part is the excellent graphical execution. This is classic pixelart at its best, simple and clean. The floor tiles have only three colors, the wall tiles four. The whole gameplay area uses only 31 colors!
