There has always been a bit of confusion as to what the name of this Tetris clone really is. The only hint the developers have given us is the name of the executable and data file, which is XTET in both cases. The about screen, which by the way is very nicely done (instead of a window popping up, it shows the text, with drop shadows, in the game window), does not mention the name of the game at all:

So our best guess is that the game is supposed to be called XTET. But it is often also known as X-Tetris and sometimes X-Tet, or sometimes simply Sex Tetris, which is a purely made-up name; there is a Sex Tetris for ZX, which may have provided some inspiration. I have even found it under the name GagBoy, from the fictional handheld that it runs on.
The reason for this confusion is that XTET is not really a stand-alone game, it was one of the four arcade minigames from the adventure game GAG, the hardest one, and was probably released seperately for publicity.
This serves as an explanation of the slightly odd graphics as well. In GAG, the GagBoy is a findable item. Later you find the game cartridge and have to reach a certain score to get some other items. As a stand-alone game, running in a 640×480 window, a good half of which is just blurred background graphic, would make little sense.
The concept of XTET is absolutely unique. Instead of blocks there are people gliding down, male and female, whom you have to arrange so that they can, uh, shag. They will do so in a short animation (with sound), whereafter they vanish. And of course, once they pile up to the top, the game is over.
