Monadologie VI

Die Monadologien lassen sich vielleicht durch folgende Punkte kürzest charakterisieren:

1. Sie arbeiten mit kleinsten Ausgangszellen als Generatoren des gesamten musikalischen Materials.
2. Diese Ausgangszellen sind größtenteils Samples aus vorhandenen Materialien/Stücken.
3. Die Partituren entstehen durch Einsatz Zellulärer Automaten, sind also maschinell entwickelt und stellen selbst abstrakte Maschinen im Deleuzischen Sinn dar.
4. Die Zellen durchschreiten diskrete Zustände als komplexe Differentiale, zeigen also fortwährdende Mutationen.

On Monadology VI

The series of Monadologies (2007-2010) comprises about nine pieces for various line-ups by now, and can be characterized shortly this way:

1. The Monadologies are all based on very small cells working as generators for the complete textures.
2. These cells are based on samples from existing pieces, here on the Gregorian Chant "in nomine".
3. The scores are generated by Cellular Automata and represent abstract machines in themselves in the Deleuzian sense. (c.f. "Milles Plateaux")
4. The cells transgress discrete states als complex differentials, mutating permanentely in pitch and time.
