Článek je zaměřen na prezentaci české historiografie psychologie, která byla podstatně ovlivněna politickými změnami ve Střední a Východní Evropě. Autoři se zabývají historiografií psychologie na třech univerzitách, které nabízejí studium psychologie, v Praze, v Brně a v Olomouci, a na Psychologickém Ústavu Akademie věd České republiky. Současný výzkum, výuka, knihy a články v časopisech, jak v češtině, tak i v cizích jazycích jsou uvedeny. Historiografie české psychoterapie se uvádí zvlášť. 24.3.2010: Jiří Štikar & Jiří Hoskovec & Jana Šmolíková přispěli kapitolou (v češtině) na téma „Agresivita řidičů“ do sborníku: Agresivita na cestách, vydaného M.Šuchou, Olomouc, Univerzita Palackého.

Autoři přinášejí teoretické a experimentální poznatky o vzteku, agresi a vyhledávání vzrušení determinujících nepřátelské, nebezpečné nebo agresivní projevy při řízení motorových vozidel. Odborné studie o agresivním řízení jsou založeny na rozborech příčin nehod, na pozorování a hodnocení chování řidičů a na datech zjišťovaných dotazováním řidičů. Jsou uvedeny typologie agresivních řidičů, ale zdůrazňuje se, že kromě typologických a individuálních charakteristik je třeba sledovat i situační podmínky vedoucí k agresi. Z komplexu individuálních činitelů determinujících agresivní chování autoři zdůrazňují potencionální vliv klinicky diagnostikovaných poruch hyperaktivity, vliv emocí a osobnostních charakteristik, rizikových postojů, vnímání rizika a poklesu pozornosti. Závěrem jsou uvedeny prostředky k prevenci nebezpečného chování, vycházející ze tří různých psychologických konceptů, jež se osvědčily v terapii agresivních osob, kdy cílem není agresi vybít, ale chování normalizovat, aby k ní nedocházelo.

Říjen 2008, Jana Šmolíková & Jiří Štikar & Jiří Hoskovec publikují přehledovou studii na téma: Nebezpečná agresivita mladých řidičů v odborném časopise Doprava, ročník 50, 5/2008, vydavatel Ministerstvo dopravy, Praha.

18.9.2007: Vychází kniha "Bezpečná mobilita ve stáří"

Práce je věnována postavení seniorů v dopravě, jejich bezpečnosti a mobilitě. Zaměřuje se především na tři fáze staršího věku: rané stáří od začátku penzijního věku do 75 let, střední stáří od 75 let do 85 let a vysoké stáří od 85 let výše. Téma je aktuální zejména s ohledem na stárnutí populace a zintenzivňování dopravy. 

Práce obsahuje čtyři kapitoly. První je věnována obecným podmínkám mobility starších osob. Druhá kapitola, nejobsáhlejší, charakterizuje starší osoby jako chodce a řidiče a věnuje v této souvislosti pozornost specifičnosti nehod starších osob, postojům, znalostem a dovednostem starších osob ve vztahu k bezpečnosti dopravy, jakož i organizaci přešetřování způsobilosti starších řidičů. Třetí kapitola se zabývá riziky mobility a životním prostředím. Čtvrtá kapitola, nazvaná omezení mobility a možnosti zlepšení, přináší kromě charakteristiky únavy výběr metod k vylaďování duševního a tělesného stavu.

 Postavení seniorů v dopravě z hlediska jejich bezpečnosti a mobility je v práci detailně analyzováno jak se zřetelem k seniorům jako řidičům, tak k seniorům jako chodcům. Práce přináší množství zajímavých dat z mezinárodní literatury i z vlastních výzkumů autorů. Text je doplněn konkrétními příklady nehod, vzorovým posudkem dopravního psychologa a ukázkami metod k udržování a zlepšování duševní i tělesné kondice. 

Kniha je vhodná pro vysokoškolskou výuku a cenným způsobem poslouží odborníkům i širší veřejnosti.

13.7.2006: Vychází pracovní sešit "Analýza lidských chyb vedoucích k nehodám" 

Pracovní sešit Jiřího Hoskovce (zde pdf.download), Jiřího Štikara a Jany Šmolíkové si klade otázky, jaké chyby vedoucí k nehodám dělají lidé, jaké jsou jejich příčiny a jak jim lze zabránit. Hlavními pojmy jsou lidské chyby, analýza nehod a teorie nehod.

15.9.2010: In der Zeitschrift History of Psychology , 2010, Vol. 13, No. 3, 309–334, herausgegeben von der American Psychological Association , erscheint der Artikel: HISTORIOGRAFIE DER TSCHECHISCHEN PSYCHOLOGIE

Ziel des Artikels ist, die Entwicklung der tschechischen Historiografie der Psychologie zu präsentieren, welche durch die politischen Veränderungen in Mittel- und Osteuropa stark beeinflusst wurde. Die Autoren beschäftigen sich mit der Historiografie der Psychologie an den drei Universitäten, die ein Psychologie Studium anbieten, nämlich Prag, Brünn und Olmütz, und am Psychologischen Institut der Akademie der Wissenschaften der Tschechischen Republik. Aktuelle Forschung auf dem Gebiet, Unterricht, Bücher und Artikel in Zeitschriften sowohl in tschechischer Sprache wie auch in Fremdsprachen werden aufgelistet. Die Historiografie der tschechischen Psychotherapie wird behandelt. Aktuelle Probleme und Perspektiven der Geschichte der Psychologie in der Tschechischen Republik werden diskutiert und Informationsquellen sind angeführt.

24.3.2010: Jiří Štikar & Jiří Hoskovec & Jana Šmolíková schreiben ein Kapitel (in Tschechisch) zum Thema „Aggressivität von Autofahrern“ im Rahmen der Publikation: Aggressivität im Verkehr, herausgegeben von M.Šucha, Olomouc, Tschechische Republik, Palacky Universität.

Es werden theoretische und empirische Erkenntnisse über Wut, Aggressivität und  Suche nach Erregung beschrieben, welche feindselige, gefährliche oder aggressive Verhaltensweisen beim Lenken von Fahrzeugen mit sich bringen. Fachstudien über aggressives Fahrerverhalten bauen auf   Analysen von Unfallursachen,  Beobachtungen des Fahrerverhaltens und Fragebogen Erhebungen unter Lenkern auf. Es werden Typologien von aggressiven Lenkern vorgestellt, wobei aber darauf hingewiesen wird, dass auch das situative Umfeld ein wichtiger Aspekt ist.  Als   individuelle Faktoren, die zu aggressivem Verhalten führen,  nennen die Verfasser einen potentiellen Einfluss von klinisch diagnostizierten Störungen von Hyperaktivität, Emotionen und Charaktereigenschaften, Einstellungen zu Risiko, Risikowahrnehmung und sinkende Aufmerksamkeit. Zum Abschluss werden Wege der Prävention aufgezeigt. Diese resultieren aus drei psychologischen Konzepten, die sich in der Therapie aggressiver Personen bewährt haben, wobei das Ziel nicht im Liquidieren der Aggression liegt, sondern in einer Normalisierung des Verhaltens.

18.9.2007: Buch: Sichere Mobilität im Alter

Das Buch befasst sich mit der Rolle von Senioren im Verkehr, sowohl im Hinblick auf die Sicherheit als auch auf die Mobilität. Aufgrund des steigenden Verkehrsaufkommens und der Zunahme des Anteils älterer Menschen in der Bevölkerung sind diese Probleme hochaktuell. Es werden vor allem die psychologischen Aspekte behandelt, wobei drei Phasen des Alters unterschieden werden: frühes Alter von Pensionsantritt bis 75 Jahre, mittleres Alter von 75 bis 85  Jahre und hohes Alter über 85 Jahre.

Das Buch ist in vier Kapitel gegliedert. Das erste befasst sich mit allgemeinen Voraussetzungen der Mobilität älterer Menschen. Das zweite Kapitel charakterisiert ausführlich ältere Menschen als Fußgänger und Autofahrer und behandelt Merkmale von Unfällen älterer Menschen, Veränderungen von spezifischen Fähigkeiten, Einstellungen, Kenntnissen und Geschicklichkeit in Bezug auf die Verkehrssicherheit und in diesem Zusammenhang auf die Organisation von Eignungs-Untersuchungen älterer Autofahrer. Das dritte Kapitel beschreibt, welche Gefahren bei der Fortbewegung in der Umwelt auftreten können. Das vierte Kapitel behandelt Einschränkungen der Mobilität und Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten. Es werden typische Merkmale von Ermüdung und eine Auswahl von Methoden zur positiven Beeinflussung des psychischen und physischen Zustandes beschrieben.

Die Position der Senioren im Verkehr, sowohl als Autolenker, als auch als Fußgänger, wird in der vorliegenden Arbeit im Hinblick auf die Sicherheit und die Mobilität einer detaillierten Analyse unterzogen. Das Buch enthält viele interessante Daten sowohl aus internationaler Fachliteratur, als auch aus eigenen Forschungsergebnissen der Autoren. Zum besseren Verständnis werden konkrete Unfallbeispiele beschrieben, ein Muster einer verkehrspychologischen Begutachtung wider gegeben und Methoden zur Erhaltung und Verbesserung der psychischen und körperlichen Kondition angeführt.

15.9.2010: Article in the Journal History of Psychology, 2010, Vol. 13, No. 3, 309–334, edited by the American Psychological Association: HISTORIOGRAPHY OF CZECH PSYCHOLOGY

The paper is aimed at presenting the development of the Czech historiography of psychology, which was strongly influenced by the political changes in Central and Eastern Europe. The authors deal with the historiography of psychology at the three universities offering an undergraduate program in psychology, located in Prague, Brno, and Olomouc, and at the Institute of Psychology of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Recent research, teaching, textbooks, and journal articles published in Czech and in foreign languages are showcased. The historiography of Czech psychotherapy is mentioned as a special thematic development. Contemporary problems and perspectives in the field of the history of psychology in the Czech Republic are discussed, sources of information are given.

24.3.2010: Jiří Štikar & Jiří Hoskovec & Jana Šmolíková contribute a chapter (in Czech) on „Drivers Aggressiveness” to the publication: Aggressiveness on the Road, edited by M.Šucha, Olomouc, Czech Repubic, Palacky Univerzity.

This paper presents theoretical and experimental findings about anger, aggression, and sensation-seeking which determine hostile, dangerous, and/or aggressive behaviours when driving motor vehicles. The expert studies on aggressive driving are based on analyses of the causes of accidents, the observation and evaluation of dirvers´behaviours, and data collected in driver surveys. Different types of aggressive drivers are presented. However, it is underlined, that apart from typological and individual characteristics, situational conditions leading to aggression also need to be taken into account. Of the aggregate of individual elements determining aggressive behaviour, the authors highlight the potential influence of clinically diagnosed hyperactivity disorders and the influences of emotions and personality traits, risky attitudes, risk perception, and attention deficits. The paper concludes with an outline of the resources which may be used to prevent dangerous behaviour. They are based on three different psychological concepts which have proved to be effective in treating aggressive individuals, where the objective is not to wipe out aggression but to normalise behavour in order to avoid it.

18.9.2007: New Book: Secure Mobility of Older Adults

The book is dealing with the role of older adults in traffic with respect to safety and mobility. Regarding to increasing road traffic and the increasing rate of older citizens in the population these topics are of current interest. The authors are concentrating to psychological aspects and are distinguishing three phases of older age: early period from retiring to 75 years, medium from 75 to 85 years and high age over 85 years.

The book has four chapters. The first concerns general preconditions of mobility of older adults. The second contains a detailed characterization of older adults as well as pedestrians and as car drivers, dealing with typical patterns of accidents, specific changes of ability, opinions, knowledge and performance concerning traffic safety and in consequence recommendations concerning the examination of older drivers. In the third chapter, the authors are describing dangers of accidents occurring for older people in the environment. In the fourth chapter, typical characteristics of fatigue and a selection of methods for stimulation of the mental and physical state are described.

The authors are thoroughly analyzing the role of older adults in traffic, as well as pedestrians and as car drivers. They are reviewing interesting data from numerous international sources and report results from their own investigations. For better understanding examples of specific accidents and a sample of a traffic-psychological expertise are included, as well as a description of methods for improving the mental and physical condition.
