- legislative acts of the European Union which oblige member states to implement regulations to achieve the desired results.

The machine guidelines declare several requirements. All (new) machines and devices which are to be installed and put into operation at the workplace must have an EC conformity declaration.
In some special cases, e.g. with devices that are to be used in areas prone to explosion, it is inevitable to include a third party in the conformity assessment procedure.
The same applies to machines listed in Annex IV of Machine Directive 2006/42/EC (in this case diverse conformity assessment procedures are allowed, with the choice being with the manufacturer).

We invite you to get acquainted with these guidelines.

Machine directives 2006/42/EC

The application of the new directives starts with December 29th, 2009. They demand a stricter safety analysis of machines and devices. The directive is related to norms which are supposed to regulate risk analysis.

Directive 2009/127/EC

Directive of the European Parliament and Council from October 21th, 2009, regarding the amendment of Directive 2006/42/EC concerning the machines for application of pesticides. It considers the basic requirements of environmental protection regarding the development and construction of new pesticide application machines and takes care of conformity with the requirements of the directive concerning maintenance and inspection.

Directive 2006/95/EC Low Voltage Directive

Directive of the European Parliament and Council from December 12th, 2006, regarding the adjustment of the regulations of the member countries concerning electrical equipment that is to be used within given voltage bounds.
Electrical equipment must match these requirements if supplied with voltage:
  • from 50 to 1000 V alternating current,
  • from 75 to 1500 V direct current.
- no longer valid since 2016-04-20.

Directive 2014/35/EU

Directive 2014/35/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 February 2014 on the harmonisation of the laws of the Member States relating to the making available on the market of electrical equipment designed for use within certain voltage limits.

Directive 2004/108/EC: Electromagnetic compatibility of electronic products - EMV

Directive 2004/108/EC of the European Parliament and Council from December 15th, 2004, regarding the adjustment of the regulations of member countries concerning electromagnetic compatibility and repeal of Directive 89/336/EEC.
- no longer valid since 2016-04-20.

Directive 2014/30/EU

Directive of The European Parliament and of the council on the harmonisation of the laws of the Member States relating to electromagnetic compatibility from 26 February 2014.

Everybody who wants to conduct a hazard analysis for CE marking must be familiar with Directives and

Norms EN ISO 12100.

The program MaschCE helps with conformity assessment (including hazard analysis and risk assessment). For this reason it is necessary that the user is in possession of the mentioned directives and norms.

The program MaschCE supports manufacturers and users in the conformity assessment process in accordance with the directives and norms.

CE Marking http://www.dyrektywa.com/en/ce-marking/ Thu, 02 Oct 2014 11:36:23 +0000 http://www.dyrektywa.com/?p=1099 Czytaj dalej »]]>

Engineering is a very important branch of economy. Unfortunately incorrect usage of machines and wrong construction solutions often cause accidents which may lead to great financial losses.
The European Union harmonized the regulations regarding the construction and usage of machines in order to prevent workplace accidents.
Standardized regulations enable free trade in goods within the European Economic Area as long as production and sale of the goods do not pose a threat for users, third parties, property or the environment.

oznaczenie CE

The manufacturer is obliged to bring a safe machine to market. This can only be achieved by correct planning, construction and installation.

Manufacturers take responsibility for conformity assessment of their machines in accordance with legal regulations and standards.

A complete documentation of the analysis of the conformity assessment should be available upon request.

If the machine does not correspond to the defined requirements and still has the CE marking, legal action will be undertaken against the persons who applied the CE marking.

Machines that do not match the EC conformity declaration concerning the CE marking must not be bought or sold!

The manufacturer ought to pursue the aim of developing a safe machine. To achieve this aim he should take account of all hazards that apply to this machine (standard EN ISO 12100) and should consider the analyses and conformity assessment he created by himself.

The task of assessing the machines with respect to national laws and directives can be accomplished by an in-company team.

With regard to particularly dangerous machines (Annex IV of the Machine Directive 2006/42/EC) stricter conformity assessment procedures are required, which have to be conducted by Notified Body.

The CE marking enables the import of goods to the EU market and prevents unfair competition.

The CE marking is mandatory for all machines and constructions which are sold in the European Economic Area even for machines manufactured in countries outside of the European Union. In such a case the manufacturer may authorize a natural or legal person to act on his behalf in relation to the part of his obligations imposed on him by Machinery Directive.

CE marking for machines:

The CE marking can only be used as soon as all requirements as defined by the EU directives are fulfilled.
If the machine which is to be placed on the market is complete, then the CE marking must be placed on the machine and the EC declaration of conformity must be signed before placing the machine on the market.
If the machine which is to be placed on the market is an incomplete machine, the CE marking must be placed on the machine and the EC declaration of incorporation of partly completed machinery must be signed before placing an incomplete machine on the market. Based on this, an EC declaration of conformity for the complete machine should be made and it should be marked by CE sign.
The CE marking of a machine ought to be noticeable and permanently legible.

The CE marking should contain:

  • name and address of the manufacturer,
  • purpose of the machine,
  • CE marking,
  • designation of series and type of the machine,
  • serial number if necessary,
  • year of construction.
 Stempel

CE marking – example:

The CE marking has to be sized at least 5 mm

If the CE marking is to be resized, the proportions shown in the illustration above have to be maintained.

In case of a small machine it is allowed to deviate from this state.

It is not necessary to attach the CE marking to an electrical device. It is sufficient to attach it to the wrapping or the included documents (user manual or certificate of warranty).

For an effective and correct execution of the EC conformity declaration of machines knowledge is required as well as the ability to perform this analysis.
