JOE J. HEYDECKER

Genealogy

A Genealogical Record
by Joe Julius Philipp Isaak Heydecker

Heydecker wrote his genealogy in 1977, after more than three decades of research. He dedicated it to his two daughters Tita and Majú, and to his younger half siblings, Andrea, Julian, Florian and Sebastian.

The documentation will be useful for anyone interested in names ranging from Haideck to Heydecker. Documents once spread widely from Europe to America are united in one body and are currently cared for by Heydecker's youngest half brother Sebastian.

Heydecker discovered six lineages:

  • The Franconian baronial Heydeck
  • The Swiss knight Heidegg
  • The Zurich townsfolk Heidegger
  • The Hungarian townsfolk Haidekker
  • The Kempten townsfolk Heydecker

There were other groups that were not pursued because of lack of time and money. They included families in middle Franconia, Austria, Baden, France, the United States and South America.

The book consists of a list of descendents beginning with the earliest mention in Kempten from 1618, biographies, photographs, an appendix with short texts, an index of all holders of the name, a geographical index, and a separate genealogical tree.
