I am grateful: 24/06/2008
Permit me to start by thanking those of us who were present in the meeting that eventually saw to electing and swearing in of the newly elected Executive Members of the Igbo Cultural Society (ICS) Austria on the 21st of June 2008. I thank, also those who could not make it. The only thing they missed was the full house. (Every other pieces of information are contained here.) It was like the early days of ICS. A good number of members turned up. The whole evening was very hilarious. I thank the immediate past ICS Executive members for organizing such a wonderful election/departure. I am, in no small measure, thanking the electoral commission for the job well done.
In an election, a “battle” has to be lost and won. In whatever situation we found ourselves, let us join hands together in making ICS progress.
I thank everybody.
Mr. Izundu A. Anthony.

From the office of the electoral commission: Igbo kwenu! Please there is a shift of time for the manifesto. It is:
Date: Saturday, 14 June 2008The change of time is as a result of information from the Afro Asiatisches Institute. I regret for the inconvenience. The challenges we face are great.
Please come on time. The manifesto will take place in the big hall and is reserved till 18:30 hours.
Please help to inform others we may not reach through this email
Igbo kwezuonu!
Mag. Leonard Kazie ObiagwuAllow me resume the duty, if given your mandate, this way: construct your mansion on the rock instead of on the sand.
I would not like to be very psychedelic in this manifesto. I want you to ponder over every line hereafter. Not everything that glitters is gold. Some individuals lack what I some times refer to as native intelligence. This exercise of understanding becomes rich if effectively combined with academic act of knowing. It is sometimes not the best to blow our trumpets so loud to deafen the ears of some gurus. It takes, any way, both to shoulder some vital responsibilities.
After a proper exchange of ideas, reasonable consultations, comparison of the activities of the recent and past executive arms of ICS and of course, focusing objectively on the aims that led to the formation of this great Society, I, Mr. Izundu Amechi Anthony, have made up my mind, not shortly, and without any pressure, persuasion, or influence from any quarter, to solicit to serve ICS. I am contending for the office of the Vice Chairman of ICS. Am asking for your votes, cast them for me. These will enable me positively improve and constructively up lift the good image of ICS.
We all know what the biting issues are:
If am given this platform by the gentle and honorable members of ICS, I promise to daringly push forward the wishes and ideas of members, before any other individual interests. I wish, if voted in, to dramatically inject new feelings into both active and inactive members of this second to none Cultural Society. I am assuring members that the doors will be flung open for ideas to flow in and eventually rule; if given the mandate, that is.
I will concert before the house any issue(s) that concerns ICS. In addition, I will assist in developing new ideas, if supported by the house, which will be aimed at winning the hearts of other Ndi-Igbo residing in Vienna, whose presence, participation in promoting, contributing to the expansion of our culture and good image, are needed. This, though, not an easy task as it sounds, requires a better strategy. The core of the matter here is the spirit in us.
Also, I will add some paces to the good ideas, -those that will materialize-, which were started by the past executives of ICS; including those abandoned. I will set them as priority, because I believe in continuity. The issue of Uniting Ndi-Igbo in Austria is now gaining momentum. If ICS still permits, this would be epoch making event will be carried on. There is a need for that.
I would appeal that none of the candidates’ ideas, past records, activities and personalities should not be neglected. Do not forget to quantify their individual capabilities. Look into or ask for their individual records. Many of us may claim that they know where they come from; it is also very important to be very good ambassadors of where we left, and avoid soiling it. Make no mistakes that you will bear – may be heavily – for the next two years. Wisely build your house on the rock.
Ndi-Igbo ibe m, you are all living witnesses to this: In no occasion have I turned my back on ICS. If any person should surface from the thin air demanding to govern the affairs of ICS, this is of course allowed, but retrospectively underscore its consequences. I have never disappointed ICS in any tasks it assigned to me. If voted in, in the same spirit, I will perform better than what you once acknowledged as satisfactory.
Gentle men, look into the seeds and choose those that will germinate. Vote for the candidates that will consciously and responsibly represent and pilot the affairs of ICS. As one, I solicit your votes; vote Mr. Izundu Amchi Anthony for a change, respect and recognition of the facts. When it comes to issues, I usually stand firm to the facts without bias.
Free your mind and let the rest follow. A rich harvest will be reaped if we properly calculate and cultivate.
Igbo kwenu! Igbo kwenu!! Igbo kwezuenu!!!
Mr. Izundu Amechi Anthony.
