This duo was created to focus on improvisation, without referring to a particular musical style or direction. For this duo, improvising freely means playing spontaneously and in the moment, regardless whether it is an abstract cluster or a tonal melody.
To date we have worked together on a singer/songwriter project for several years, and cannot deny that songs play an integral role in the way we express ourselves.
A particular challenge for us was the question of how to combine variable compositions, improvisations and straightforward songs into a consistent performance.
The solution came as an idea just before a concert: why not use improvisation to play transitions from one tune to the next?
It worked out perfectly and we have been following this concept ever since.
In order to get new inspiration for improvisation or to stimulate others we also included painters, poets or dancers in our performances.

Even though we are the only all female folk band in Austria the name does not stem from witches but is an abbreviation for Whiskey in the Charts.
The band dedicates itself to European folk music traditions. Songs and instrumentals from all over the continent have found their way into our repertoire.
We have performed at nearly every folk festival and folk music venue in Austria, and are happy to have been invited to international festivals such as Wackelsteinfestival (AUT), Triskell festival of celtic music in Trieste (I) and Festival internazionale di musica folk acoustica (I) among others.
