Biography
I was born in Vienna/Mödling. After completing
compulsory school I began a states apprenticeship in a toyshop. At the same time
I attended several courses and seminars in different artistic branches.
My interest in porcelain dolls arose after
receiving one of these dolls. I acquired special literature on this subject, and
in 1981 I finally decided to concentrate on the study and nanufacture of these
dolls.
My first exhibition in Vienna 1984 was a
complete cuccess. Encouraged by many artists who wanted to learn how to make
these dolls themselves I began holding courses in order to share my personally
developed technology with others.
I continually preserved in improving my
technology until in 1985 I finally achieved my major breakthrough.
I am now capable of an authentic reconstruction
of porcelain-colour and texture- a technical ability is indeed rarely found in
the degree of perfection.
The unique doll maker has a good understanding
of what is needed to give each doll an individuall expression and an aura of
days-gone-by; this is jet another feat in which I have always managed to achieve
perfection.
This particular talent, together with my
technical accuracy and high degree of creative Blair, have own me the highest
inernational acclaim at the annual World-Doll-Congress.
It is not surprising that "Gieszer-Dolls"
have not only found homes in some of the most noble doll collections in the
world, but can also be seen in doll museums in Austria and abroad, where they
serve as total replacements for the antique originals, and as such, complete and
enrich these collections.
