PWL Radio is broadcasting 24 hours a day and is playing lots of Stock/Aitken/Waterman classics.
Monday, January 17, 2005 JUSTIFIED | THE BEST OF NATALIE BROWNE
Almighty Records have released the first long player by Natalie Browne, Justified - The Best Of Natalie Browne. The double CD album features tracks from the last 10 years including the Stock & Aitken written and produced From Here To Eternity.
There are 2 new tracks on the album, the Pet Shop Boys written I'm Not Scared, which was a hit single for Eighth Wonder in 1988, and Fascinated, a cover of the Company B classic.
The title track, Justified, was written and produced by Jewels & Stone
There's a new bootleg mix of the old Bananarama track Really Saying Something that is currently storming the UK Club Charts.
It has been promo'd as Solasso v Bananarama with mixes by Solasso and Shanghai Surprize. Apparently the track has been signed by AATW and will be released shortly.
Check out the new and revamped website of the Nanas @ bananarama.co.uk for more details.
Congratulations to Pete Waterman, who will be receiving an OBE from the Queen for his achievements in the music industry and in recognition of the millions of pounds he has helped raise for various charities through single releases by Band Aid II, Ferry Aid, Hillsborough and Help A London Child.
Phixx have been in the studio recording a little Christmas song for UK Children TV show Blue Peter. The Father Christmas Song was written by Matt Baker of Blue Peter and none other than Mike Stock has been a helping hand in the recording studio, playing keyboards and offering advice.
You can download an official mp3 of the song HERE.
Phixx will have a new single out later this month. The mid-tempo song, Strange Love has been remixed by Motiv8 and will be out on 2 CDs.
POP!'s 3rd single Serious has entered the UK Singles Charts at number 16 on 16th January 2005.
Serious is a mid tempo number which has a definite "Jam & Lewis" (80's US producers for acts like Janet Jackson) flavour. The song comes with 2 remixes by WIP which have been described as "Five Star meets Jam & Lewis remixed by Shep Pettibone after listening to Nu Shooz's 'I Can't Wait'". Serious will be out on 2 CD singles.
Our sincere condolences to the Waterman family who have lost Paul Waterman on January 3rd 2005. Paul had been an engineer at PWL since ca. 1989 and was a member and integral part of Loveland and of the remix team W.I.P. (Work in Progress). He will be sadly missed.
"On January 3rd 2005 Paul peacefully passed away after a serious illness which had kept him in hospital since June.
We would like to thank everyone for their kind regards and sympathies and we hope that you will leave us to grieve our loss in private.
