82. Zamioculcas, Schott, Synops. Aroid. 71. — Flores in spadice inappendiculato abortu monoici, superiores ovariis effœtis, inferiores staminibus effœtis v. 0, interspatio 0. Perianthii segmenta 4, cuneato-spathulata, apicibus truncatis incrassatis. Fl. : Stamina 4, filamentis brevibus subclavatis inclusis, apicibus angustatis ; antheræ minutæ, terminales, loculis connectivum superantibus rimulis apicalibus dehiscentibus ; pollen vermiforme. Ovarium effœtum. Fl.  : Stamina 4, imperfecta. Ovarium oblongum v. ovoideum, 2-loculare, in stylum brevem attenuatum, stigmate pulvinari ; ovula in loculis solitaria, subamphitropa, funiculis brevibus placentis septo adnatis affixa, micropyle infera. Fructus … — Herbæ rhizomate brevi v. horizontali, inferne tubera sessilia emittente, superne folia 1-2-pedalia cum inflorescentia parva proferentes. Folia plura, crasse petiolata, imparipinnata, pinnis alternis 6-8-jugis, v. bipinnata pinnis pinnulisque oppositis cum rhachi articulatis deciduis reticulatis, petiolo supra medium nodoso-incrassato basi tumido brevissime vaginante. Pedunculus elongatus v. foliis multoties brevior et petiolo tenuior. Spathæ tubus subglobosus, convolutus, fl. involvens, fauce constricta, lamina lanceolata v. cymbiformi dorso supra apicem cornuta horizontali recurva v. reflexa. Spadix sessilis, cylindraceus, spatha brevior, brevis v. elongatus, supra fl. constrictus ; inflorescentiæ densifloræ ; brevis et ellipsoidea v. elongata et cylindracea, floribus hexagonis ; brevis, floribus 4-gonis.
