This page contains some programs i've wrote for my study at the
TU-Vienna or in my freetime.
Mainly i'm interested in Java,
as i like the idea to write a program once and without recompiling
use it on different systems. Also i'm also interested in
programming PDAs, so thats a perfect combination. As some people
still belive that java is slow, i can say that some tests i've made,
showed that it is as fast as C and outperformes Visual Basic by
far. (But i don't think this is something special, i don't know
if there exists any slower language than VBasic). Since Version 1.4.0
even the rather slow swing-classes performs very well.

Just a small java applet. Written in one day to gain some experience in game programming with java.
Its a very simple game like those old "handhelds", where you have to catch people jumping out of burning houses. In this version you have to catch oildrops from a broken oilwell.
It is open source so you can grab the source and learn from it. It covers all the basic issues about game programming (double buffering, image loading, timer and input processing). The game uses a resulution of 240x320 pixel so its optimized for PDAs like the Sharp Zaurus. |

On my first homepage i had a small frame at the bottom, where every 30 sec. quotes of more or less famous persons were displayed. As the free webspace provider turned into a commercial one, i had to remove the script. But if you like such stuff you can download it here. All you need is a php-enabled webserver and a database. The package includes near 8000 quotes.
