Vicky's Diary Wednesday 7th March 2001 We were supposed to go to Germany today for three days, but it's been postponed for a few weeks. Ah well guess what we're doing, yes back in the studio. Shelley was late though because she landed her plane at the wrong airport in the wrong country! Her head really is in the clouds! And Lynsey went off on one and started arresting people and Peter decided he wanted to sing on the track so he wasted half the day in the vocal booth. I don't know I'm sure he's supposed to be human! Lynsey's Diary Wednesday 21st February 2001 We were in the recording studio at Mike and Matt's for mid-day, fine-tuning the vocals for our second single, which is going to be…. Yeah right because I'm going to tell you that now! You'll have to wait and see but it's a goody, oh yes! World domination waits. "He he he. Ve av veys ov making you luv us! Ha ha ha ha!" Sorry being cooped up in recording studio with four no, Mike and Mat as well, six other nutters all day doesn't do a lot for one's mental stability. Mind you neither does being in Girls@Play for that matter! Perhaps that's another chicken and egg scenario? Mentally ill then Girls@Play or Girls@Play then mentally ill? Hmmm. Are doing 'roley pollys' and 'keep fit' while fellow band members are trying to sing harmonies common recording studio occurrences? Shelley's Diary Saturday 23rd December 2000 Adam picked us up at 6am and we drove to the Charlton Athletic Football Club, where we had photographs taken with a great bunch of disabled kids who support the club. Cliff Stanford was also there for the pictures with the News of the World as his company, Redbus, sponsors Charlton. All of the young supporters have won a day at Mike Stock and Matt Aitkin's studio with us while we record our next song. Which will be cool. We were all there because enough money had been raised, by the club, to supply them a specially adapted mini bus to take them to away matches. When we arrived we went straight to the loos to do our make-up and my body shimmer fell out all over my trousers. I was not a happy bunny! I have to be immaculate, especially in my line of business. Well, feeling a right mess, I went down with the girls to chat to the kids. Then we were told the photos would be outside and we all had to take off our jackets, it was FREEZING! The photographer was really nice and had them all taken in about 15 minutes. After the shoot I got into conversation with one of the boys and his Mum and they were telling me how they hadn't ever missed a single game. I was so engrossed that I didn't realise that the others had left, I ran inside and found them being interviewed by the journalist who looked like and Eastend gangster! Filled him in on a few details, said goodbye to the kids and headed home. It was really nice to be able to spend some time with these kids. |
