Monday, March 28, 2005 DEBBIE HARRY | MIND OVER MATTER
Thanks to an entry in the guestbook on this very site, we have discovered that E.G. Daily's version of Mind Over Matter was originally recorded by none other than Debbie Harry!
"It was supposed to be the hit single from the comedy movie "Summer School", but contractual conflicts prevented Deborah's version from being released."
The info is directly from the official Michael Jay website, where you can hear a low-fi version of the song. Goto the New Song Demos page, then scroll down to Unreleased Rarities!
Michael Jay is the writer/producer who co-wrote this song. He's currently enjoying chart success with Eminem's single "Like Toy Soldiers", which Jay wrote with Martika and which was a number one hit in Charts all over the world back in 1989.
Donna Summer is the latest act to be remixed "Eric Prydz" style. There's a new dance mix out in UK clubs which samples her most successful single with S/A/W, This Time I Know It's For Real. The track is called Just To Let You Know and it'll be intersting to see if this gets signed and released.
