Back in Austria, Leo, his wife Gudrun, and Ernst mobilized what they called their inner network of friends and family members to pool energies and resources. They created strategies how to raise money to rent a house with small premises where the children would be able to find a place to sleep and eat.
“We kept telling everybody that we don’t want to change Africa – well, we can’t !! All we want is to get around 50 children off the streets and into school – plus seeing to it that they stay healthy and don’t die from malaria and malnutrition. That’s it, no more. This is our simple mission.”
