Project Handbook – What is this?

The Project Handbook shall describe:

• How the project will be executed
• How the project will be managed
• Further documents used and included in above context

The Project Handbook shall include (or must include if set mandatory) following further documents:

• Exactly one Planing Document (shall be optional)
• One or more Phase Plan document(s) (shall be mandatory), each of which can again (and optionally) include exactly one Planing Document (of sub-projects)
• Exactly one Deliverables Log (shall be optional)
• One or more Risk Management Log(s) (shall be optional) which itself is/are built of one or more Risk Descriptions (or Risk Description Forms)
• One or more Issue Management Log(s) (shall be optional) which itself is/are built of one or more Issue Descriptions (or Issue Description Forms )
• An (optional) Assumptions Log
• An (optional) Constraints Log
• One or more Performance Report(s) (shall be mandatory)
• One or more Lessons Learned (shall be mandatory)

The documents itself can optionally be included as part of Project Handbook but it is mandatory to describe them (purpose, usage, context in which used, updating frequency and context etc.) in the Project Handbook.
